Classical Text Interpretation and Theoretical Reframing in TCM
Reorganizing classical concepts and theoretical language so they can serve clinical work, teaching, and modern research.
My perspective
I have always felt that if TCM research leaves the classical tradition behind, it becomes fragmented technique; but if it remains inside the classics without returning to clinic and modern research, it cannot truly speak to the present. I therefore approach classical work not as preservation alone, but as a way to reactivate theory as a usable intellectual tool.
What I care about most in this area
Clarifying theoretical language
I care about how concepts such as pattern, zang-fu, and pathomechanism can be expressed more precisely.
Classics are not only for memorization
For me, they must return to clinical reasoning and research-question formation.
Teaching and theory building reinforce each other
Many ideas I teach later become columns and research reflections.
Translation between tradition and modernity is essential
Much of this work is, in fact, a form of theoretical translation.

I list each directly relevant project separately here, including both NSTC and hospital-based projects. If this website does not currently contain a standalone project for this theme, I leave it blank rather than forcing a match.
