Ching-Mao Chang, M.D., Ph.D.
Director/Attending Physician (M.D.), Division of Integrative Medicine, Center for Traditional Medicine, Taipei Veterans General Hospital; Associate Professor, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.

Dr. Chang is a physician-scientist specializing in traditional Chinese medicine, rheumatology, and integrative medicine. His academic trajectory has focused on translating clinical problems into measurable evidence and clinically actionable research, particularly in Sjögren’s syndrome and dry eye syndrome. His doctoral research at Chang Gung University examined the efficacy and mechanisms of Chinese herbal formula therapy in Sjögren’s syndrome, with emphasis on anti-oxidative and immune modulatory effects.
He has since expanded this work into clinical trials of herbal medicine and acupuncture, including SS-1, TBDESJS (Chun-Yu-Ching-Hua-Yin), and ACUDES. These studies integrate symptom outcomes, tear secretion, autonomic function, and biomarker-oriented investigation. His broader academic mission is to position TCM within a modern evidence-based and translational framework.
